Zip Trek in the Scottish Highlands – Fly Over Alvie Gorge

The course begins gently, with shorter wires to build confidence. Then, the rides grow in both height and length. Throughout the journey, you’ll be accompanied by a qualified Zip Guide who will show you the ropes. They will operate the brakes as the wires get bigger; and make sure you feel safe while enjoying the adventure.
The highlight comes with the final two lines: a 350-metre and an incredible 550-metre zip – Scotland’s longest zip wire. You can reach speeds of up to 40mph as you fly across the gorge.

Requirements
- Max weight limit: 120 kilograms / 19 stone / 265 pounds – we will check!
- Must fit into our Zip Harnesses: Waist (max) 110cm / 44inches – Leg girth (max) 75cm / 30 inches. We may ask you to wear an additional chest harness for your comfort and safety.
- Please be aware that the last wire is affected by high winds. For your safety we may end the course on our Tower Zip instead.
Fitness
You will walk uphill on a forest path for 10-20 minutes to the start of the course, need to use your arms to control your speed and direction on the zip wires. You must to be able to stand up unaided at the end of each zip wire and may need to pull yourself a short distance along the wires to reach the end of the longer wires.

Getting ready
Before you start zipping, one of our expert guides will introduce you to the course by taking you through a quick safety briefing, show you how to clip your pulley to the zip wires and how to navigate the course safely as well as how to have fun while doing so! You’ll be shown you how to manage your speed whilst zipping and everyone will have a practice on our demo wire.
A Crash course in zip lining
The course has 2 distinct sections. The first 5 lines are about getting you used to the feeling of flying through the air, slowly building in height, speed and length. By the time you get to the end of the fifth wire, you will be an expert at clipping yourself on and off and controlling your speed as well as wanting longer, faster and higher zips!
adrenaline pumping heights
The second section of the park is where the adrenaline really builds. We’re now flying high above the river and the wires get faster and faster, increasing in length with the longest zips covering hundreds of metres each!
