Winter Skills Courses in Scotland

These are aimed at keen summer hill walkers who are looking to develop their skills before heading out in winter. We will spend time on the hill looking at all elements of winter navigation and General Mountain skills, from the use of ice axe and crampons as well as ropes. Digging snow profiles and snow shelters you never had more fun with your clothes on (and
your hat and gloves!).

Winter Walking in Scotland and the Cairngorms can be one of the most breathtakingly stunning experiences you can encounter; we will show you how to stay safe in the winter conditions giving you the winter skills necessary to stay safe on the hills, from our base in Aviemore we will access some of the best mountains Scotland has to offer, we will show you how to use ice axe and crampons as well as looking at snow profiles and snow shelters. If your feeling really brave we will bring the ropes out and enter into the world of winter mountaineering.
