The Big Splash
The Big Splash is to be held once again on the River Spey by the Old Bridge Inn where there is enough space to accommodate a sizable event.
The idea “The big splash” was born from an event held in Sweden which involves people launching themselves off a ramp/jump into a small lake for fun!!!!
We heard about this event whilst socialising in one of Aviemore's fine public houses, over several beers, when somebody came up with the bright idea of building ourselves a ramp into the Spey! This seemed a cracking idea at the time and we thought we would see if we would feel the same in the morning about the idea. Needless to say we felt slightly different in the morning (due to the previous night’s alcoholic beverages) but the idea still seemed excellent.
From this idea the Big Splash seemed to grow and grow, from a humble plank into the River Spey for our own use, into a UK wide event consisting of a four metre high ramp for multi use including snowboards, skis, mountain bikes, canoes, skateboards etc etc. Down load promo film!
