The AMFF
The Aviemore Mountain Film Festival (AMFF) is Britain’s newest mountain film festival, dedicated to showcasing the best in adventure sports from around the world. It's more than a film festival though - this is a showcase for mountain activities and set to become one of the most spectacular events in the Highlands.
The main venue is the new state-of-the-art Auditorium and Exhibition Arena of The MacDonald Aviemore Highland Resort (AHR).
Featuring subjects as diverse as Rally-Raid, BASE-jumping and bridge-jumping, in addition to more mainstream mountain activities, AMFF promises to be fast, furious and fun. The festival celebrates the excitement of both participation and spectating; bringing together enthusiasts and activists from around the world as well as focusing on what is possible right here in the Cairngorm National Park.
Mountaineers, trekkers and kayakers rub shoulders with the new school performers from the worlds of dry-tooling, paragliding, downhill biking and extreme skiing.
More than just a Film Festival, with a massive exhibition space full of outdoor equipment manufacturers, activity providers and outdoor professionals showcasing the best and newest they have to offer. With the first ever StreetBoard Big-Air World Championship, a climbing wall on site, mountain bike trials and display area, a film-making competition during the festival and numerous other events taking place, this is more a two-day mountain activities event than ‘just’ a film festival.
